El Circo del Señor Julián (Mr. Julian’s Circus)

On 26 and 27 September, as part of the Month of the Clown, the Teatro Circo Price will host two performances of a family show that combines theatre, circus, clowning and comedy magic by the Julián y Pendorcho Company. The story kicks off on the day of the big performance. Pendorcho, a clown in training, is finalising the preparations to ensure that everything goes according to plan. However, when Mr. Julian is about to raise the curtain, he receives some unexpected news: all of the company’s performers, including the star of the show, Beba, have disappeared. The two of them must improvise and rise to the challenge of performing the show alone, leading to a series of hilarious situations that will make both children and adults laugh. Behind the proposal is the Julián y Pendorcho Company, founded in 2020. With Argentinian roots but resident in Spain, it is made up of two artists with more than three decades of theatre, circus and clown training and experience under their belts. Their hallmark is the creation of productions that combine circus disciplines, magic and an approachable and dynamic narrative that is able to capture the audience’s attention from start to finish. Inspired by classic clowns, their characters pay tribute to traditional circus, while incorporating a present-day stage language, with contemporary references and a quick pace that turns each performance into a fresh and participative proposal oozing with emotion.
