The precision of timekeeping. 19th century clocks in the Royal Collections

The Bourbons Hall in the Isabel II Area on Floor -2 of the Royal Collections Gallery will host a new exhibition from 26 March to 27 September in which some of the clocks acquired by Spanish monarchs over the years to adorn their palaces will be on display. This small exhibition seeks to give visitors an insight into the aesthetic evolution, the range of models produced and technical developments to ensure more precise timekeeping. In this way, the most innovative and curious models have been brought together to show visitors the tastes of Ferdinand VII and Isabel II, who enriched the royal collection with unique clocks, and how they selected the finest pieces made by the most renowned clockmakers, reflecting technical developments and the variety of aesthetic styles that emerged throughout their reigns.
