Placebo

The British alternative rock band will be giving a concert on 1 October 2026 at the Movistar Arena as part of the 30th Anniversary Tour, which celebrates its career spanning three decades. The tour coincides with the release of Placebo Re:Created, a re-make of the album that first brought the band to fame in 1996. Having got together in London in 1994, Placebo is one of the leading bands on the British alternative scene and its current line-up includes Brian Molko and Stefan Olsdal and former members include the drummers, Steve Hewitt and Steve Forrest. Having sold over 11 million copies of its eight studio albums, its musical style is the result of a solid combination of glam rock, Gothic touches and industrial rock. The origins of the debut album, Placebo (1996), are revisited with the release of Placebo Re:Created, celebrating the legacy of the original album and highlighting its enduring cultural relevance, reaffirming just how ground-breaking the album was when it was originally released. This new album has been recreated by Brian Molko and Rob Kirwan based on the original master tapes and mixed by Adam Noble. The result is a collection that preserves the rebellious spirit of the original album while taking the sound to new horizons, reflecting the band’s long history with these songs and its ongoing creative evolution. In addition to recent tracks, there will also be hits like Every You Every Me, The Bitter End, Slave To The Wage and the cover version of Kate Bush’s classic Running Up That Hill, along with other classics that have consolidated the band as one of the essential names in alternative rock in recent decades.
