How we're funded

CityVibe is free for you and we want to keep it that way. This is where the money that runs it can come from, with no small print.

The important part first

  • CityVibe is free for you. We charge nothing for finding plans, saving them or getting alerts on Telegram.
  • We may earn a commission when you buy tickets through some of our links. It only happens with sellers that run an active affiliate programme with us, and it costs you nothing extra.
  • Organisers can pay for their event to appear earlier or in a featured spot. Featured events always carry the label Promoted.
  • Commission never decides the order. Everything else is sorted by date and, when you search, by what best matches your search.

Affiliate links

Some ticket sellers run affiliate programmes: if you reach their site from CityVibe and buy, they pay us a share of what they make on that sale. It is an agreement between the seller and us and it does not change what you pay: the seller sets the price, just as if you had gone there on your own.

When a buy button is an affiliate link, we tell you right there: under the button you will see “Affiliate link” and a link to this page. If you don't see that line, the link earns us nothing. For search engines, the same links are marked as sponsored.

Once you are on the seller's site, the seller or the network that runs its programme may use their own cookies to know you came from CityVibe. That happens on their site and is governed by their cookie policy. CityVibe has no advertising cookies (Cookie policy), and we count clicks on ticket buttons as hourly totals, without knowing who you are (Privacy policy). Only if you accept analytics does Google Analytics record that click too: the event and the seller's domain, never your name or your account.

Promoted events

An organiser can pay us for two things: for their event to appear on CityVibe earlier than usual, or to show up among the “Featured” events on the home page. Every featured event carries the label Promoted on its card and on its page, so you always know what is advertising.

Publishing earlier does not put an event ahead of anyone: it takes its place by date, like any other. And paying does not skip review: a paid event goes through the same checks as the rest and, if it fails them, it is not published.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell tickets and we don't resell them. You buy on the seller's site, under their terms.
  • We don't set prices. Each seller or organiser sets them; we show the one they publish.
  • We don't sell your data to anyone: not to sellers, not to organisers.
  • We don't change what we say for money. A commission or a payment does not make an event better described or higher up in your searches.

If something doesn't add up

If you see an affiliate link without its notice or a promoted event without its label, that is our mistake: write to ceo@cityvibe.guide (opens in a new tab) and we will fix it. Who is behind CityVibe, with full details, is in the Legal notice.

We tell you because it is fair and because the law asks for it: article 20 of Spain's LSSI (opens in a new tab) requires advertising to be recognisable as such, and article 20 of the Spanish General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users (opens in a new tab) requires us to say when someone pays to be ranked higher.
